Dog lovers like us do not leave home without our best friend. That means we are always keen to visit dog friendly restaurants and pet friendly hotels in Chicago. But we also like to go beyond dog friendly restaurants and take our pups to Chicago dog friendly bars and cafes.

Some golden rules for visiting Chicago dog friendly restaurants and bars are:

· Always check to determine how “dog friendly” restaurants and bars define dog friendly. Establishments generally have certain hours or seasons during which they are pet friendly and some even limit breed or size of animal.

· Be sure to plan ahead by bringing appropriate toys, a water bowl, treats, and of course a leash to entertain your best friend and help control her around other animals.

· Check to see whether a dog friendly bar or restaurant permits animals off leash. Beware that other animals maybe non social and owners maybe unwilling or unable to control their animals in unknown environments.

· Never take your eye off your pet when at a dog friendly bar or restaurant.

· And most of all, sit back, relax and enjoy the special time with your pup!
